Yoga Schedule

Monday:

  • Available for private yoga sessions
  • 11:00 – 11:45 am: Chair Yoga in-studio & virtual, Balance Yoga Center
    • This is an adaptive Yoga Class for those students interested in experiencing the benefits of increased mobility, flexibility and strength without the rigor of a traditional Mat Yoga Class. The chair is used in all different ways to modify the poses to fit the needs of students who may be recovering from injury, have limited mobility, or just prefer a gentler approach to the practice.
  • 12:15 – 1:00 pm: Warm Slow Flow in-studio & virtualBalance Yoga Center
    • An all-levels Slow Flow class where we will connect the breath to movement. In a far-infrared heated room at about 85 degrees.
  • 5:30 – 6:45 pm: Yin Yoga in-studio & virtual, Balance Yoga Center
    • Yin yoga targets the deep connective tissues: fascia, ligaments, joints, and bones, unlike a regular “yang” yoga which just targets the muscles. A slower and more meditative practice, yin yoga gives space to turn inward and tune into both your mind and the physical sensations of your body. Through longer holding of poses yin yoga helps you stretch and lengthen these rarely-used tissues while also teaching you how to breathe through discomfort and sit with your thoughts.
    • Some of the many benefits of yin are: increased flexibility, increased blood flow and circulation, and reduced stress.
    • Yin yoga is for anyone, those dealing with injuries or a chronic condition like arthritis or osteoporosis, to athletes that want to round out and balance their workouts. Yin can also be a great starting point for someone interested in delving more into meditation.

Tuesday:

  • Available for private yoga sessions.
  • 12:00 – 12:30 pm: Yoga, Redding City Hall
    • Beginning 9/27: A lunch-break class for City of Redding employees. Each session varies and focuses on  either standing poses, forward bends, chest openers, or twists. Modifications will be given to accommodate all levels.
  • 2:00 – 2:45 pm: Yoga, Sunrise Mountain Wellness Center – Kings View
    • A therapeutic yoga class designed to let the practitioners feel and befriend the body through movement and mindfulness. An adaptive class designed for these mental health and substance use recovery members.
  • 5:00 – 5:30 pm: Yoga, REU Av-Tech
    • Beginning 9/27: An after work class for City of Redding employees. Each session varies and focuses on  either standing poses, forward bends, chest openers, or twists. Modifications will be given to accommodate all levels.

Wednesday:

  • Available for private yoga sessions.
  • 5:15 – 6:15 pm: Slow Vinyasa, Balance Yoga Center
    • A creative sequence of physical postures, linked to the rhythm of the breath, slowed down for a little more time to focus on alignment and being present. You can expect to stretch and strengthen your body in this class designed to accommodate all levels.
    • Audrey brings the tantric play of opposites into her classes so that you can find the harmony of activity and calm, beginning to embody fluidity in movement and stillness, leaving practice more open and connected in body, mind, and spirit.

Thursday:

  • Available for private yoga sessions
  • 12:00 – 12:30 pm: Yoga, REU Av-Tech
    • Beginning 9/29: A lunch-break class for City of Redding employees. Each session varies and focuses on  either standing poses, forward bends, chest openers, or twists. Modifications will be given to accommodate all levels.
  • 2:00 – 3:15 pm: Virtual (only) Yoga Nidra & Yin/Restorative, Balance Yoga Center
    • Beginning with the 30-minute Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep, aka adult nap time) we will slow down, relax, and rejuvenate, through guided meditation and gentle/passive stretching.
    • Yin Yoga directs the asana practice into the connective tissues, ligaments, and joints which are not exercised very much in an active (or yang) asana practice.
    • Suitable for nearly all levels of students, yin yoga and restorative yoga are great compliments to the dynamic and muscular (yang) yoga practice. With these styles, it’s not about changing and pushing ourselves, this class allows for a gentle and quiet power to arise facilitating a deep release of healing. Restorative yoga is a practice that allows for both a stillness in the body through passive stretching, and the mind, through the lengthly time held in the pose. Deeply meditative, deeply healing, restorative yoga is often called the most advanced yoga.
  • 5:00 – 5:30 pm: Yoga, Redding City Hall
    • Beginning 9/29: An after work class for City of Redding employees. Each session varies and focuses on  either standing poses, forward bends, chest openers, or twists. Modifications will be given to accommodate all levels.
